Praia D'El Rey

Praia D'El Rey is situated in a stunning area, enjoying an enviable and peaceful location near the picturesque medieval town of Obidos. This project was voted 3rd in the 'Best Places to Make Money', on Channel 4's 'A Place in the Sun'. It consists of 600 acres (200 hectares) with a landscape as richly varied as the surrounding countryside. The 18 hole links style, par 72 championship golf course designed by Cabell B Robinson with beautiful undulating greens and lush green fairways has stunning views of the Atlantic and is a good test for all golfers. Praia D'El Rey is one of last places in this region to be granted permission for development directly on the beachfront and there is no option for further building. This means these unique properties with their spectacular views over the Atlantic will never again be repeated on the Silver Coast.

The Local Area
Few resorts are more perfectly situated than Praia D'El Rey. Still within easy reach of the capital Lisbon, this 230 hectare estate overlooks the wide Atlantic Ocean and has magnificent views, making it one of the most desirable locations in Portugal.
Lisbon itself is a thriving capital but also offers its own rich history as one of the world's most famous seafaring ports. As well as excellent shops, restaurants and bars, the city offers beautiful architecture, great museums, fascinating flea markets and a vibrant night life.
Pineche, a traditional fishing village is the nearest town to Praia d'el Rey, 10 minutes drive and is situated on a peninsular. Here you'll find many shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket.
The harbour boasts great fish restaurants and there is a possibility of a new marina.
At the very tip on the peninsular is the most western part of Europe and here is a lovely restaurant called "Nau dos Coruos"with panoramic views out to sea and towards the Berlengas Islands.
The Berlengas Islands is another place you can visit from Pineache. There are regular boat trips throughout the summer where you can explore the inhabited Islands and it is fantastic for snorkelling.
Also within easy reach of Praia D'El Rey is the medieval village of Obidos, a jewel of Portuguese heritage. Encircled by a ring of medieval walls and crowned by a traditional Moorish castle. Obidos also boasts a spectacular natural lagoon whose calm waters are ideal for snorkeling, sailing and windsurfing. Or take a boat from Praia D'El Rey to the beautiful Berlenga Islands with their majestic cliffs and abundant bird life.
The countryside around Praia D'El Rey is one of the most enchantingly beautiful areas in the whole of Europe. Building in these coastal landscapes is now controlled by tough planning restrictions, which ensure the region remains protected perpetuity from overdevelopment.
