Marble Mountain Ski Information

Holidays - Marble Mountain - Ski Information

Marble Mountain is part of the Appalachian Mountain Range.  At its summit it is over 1,700 feet above sea level, rising above the Humber River as makes its way through Humber Valley.

The mountain itself is a series of steep ridges forming part of the southern side of the Humber River valley. The highest point of Marble Mountain is "Mount Musgrave" (540 m,48°55′49″N, 57°50′03″W) at Steady Brook, approximately 7 kilometres east of Corner Brook. The peak is named in honour of Sir Anthony Musgrave, a colonial governor of Newfoundland.

The Marble Mountain Ski Resort is known to have some of the best skiing east of the Rockies with an average of 5 metres (16.5 feet) of snow each year, compared to Mont Tremblant's 3.65 metres (12 feet). The resort was a key venue for the 1999 Canada Winter Games hosted by Corner Brook.  Average daytime temperatures in winter are -5 Celsuis)

Marble Mountain boasts the only detachable high speed quad lift in Atlantic Canada, the Governor's Express. It is 1660 m in length and has a ride time of approximately 8 minutes.

Marble Mountain has 35 ski runs which can be reached via quad chair lifts and a platter lift.  One of the best things about Marble Mountain is the smaller crowds and short queues allowing you to spend more time on the mountain than on the lift.
