Mallorca has some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. A visit to Formentor on the north coast is a must and on the east coast there are dozens of Calas (small coves), with golden sandy beaches. The idyllic favourite of local artists, the small fishing harbour of Cala Ratjada on the south east coast is well worth a visit.
Mallorca may well be one of the most popular destinations in Europe but peace and quiet is never far away. You can drive to the mountains fo the west coast and admire the scenery or stop for a picnic amongst the pine trees in perfect solitude.
Palma, the island's cosmopolitan capital, has shops, boutiques, department stores and many historical sites including the ancient cathedral. Walk along the Paseo Maritimo, one of the largest yacht harbours in Europe, or dance the night away in one of the many clubs and discotheques.
There are several golf courses on the island: Son Vida, Bendinat and Santa Ponsa are all a short distance from Palma. Mallorca is a paradise island offering something for everyone.
Mallorcan beaches are beautiful. There are 550 kilometres of coastline so a huge geographical diversity means Mallorca can offer a range of beaches, which include lively beaches, like Arenal, to hidden coves. Between these two extremes, there is an immense range of variety and quality.
Mallorca is fantastic for bathing, diving, water skiing, windsurfing, surfing and even boarding a submarine and seeing the coast from an entirely different perspective. It is a lovely place for boat trips, showing varied coastal landscapes with their ancient watchtowers, villages, ports and hidden beaches. Mallorca is a very good place for yachting.
